Stone Calculator

Estimate how many tons of crushed stone, rock or aggregate your project needs. Each dimension has its own unit (in/ft/yd/m), and the material dropdown sets the density automatically.

How to Estimate Stone by the Ton

Find the volume of each area (length x width x depth), convert to cubic yards by dividing by 27, then multiply by the material density to get tons. Use the unit selector on any field to enter inches, feet, yards or meters, and the material dropdown to set the right density automatically. Add 5-10% for waste and confirm density and price with your supplier.

Stone Tonnage Guide

Use the stone calculator for crushed stone, rock, limestone, riprap and aggregate planning. It totals volume from multiple shapes and converts to tons using the material density.

How to use Supply Calculator

Start with the calculator that matches how your material is sold: area, length, volume, count, weight or electrical load. Enter one work area at a time, use the unit selector beside each measurement, then review the order quantity and cost fields before comparing supplier quotes.

Most calculators can save the current estimate in your browser, reload named estimates, print a copy, switch to dark mode or create a shareable link. Those tools are intended for planning and communication; always confirm final quantities, coverage rates, density, code requirements and pricing with the supplier or contractor responsible for the work.
